Fifth Sunday of Advent Christmas Day

Today is the day we celebrate the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. He is the light of the world.

We are here to worship God-and his Son Jesus born this day in Bethlehem.

We began the first Sunday in Advent by lighting the candle of Hope. Christ is our Hope, the Hope of our salvation. As Christians, we are to share that Hope with all people.

The second Sunday of Advent we lit the candle of Peace. It is Christ who brings the Peace of God into our lives. In Him only can true Peace be found. We are to share that Peace with others.

On the third Sunday of Advent, we lit the rose candle of Joy. We know that God gives Joy to everyone who abides in Him. Jesus is our Joy — in Him we rejoice. We are to share that Joy with others

On the fourth Sunday of Advent we lit the candle of Love. Jesus is the gift of God’s Love to all who believe on Him. Love never fails. Jesus is God’s perfect Love. We are to Love others as Christ has Loved us. Let His Love shine through you.

Today we light the Christ candle.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given.

He is the light of the world, born this day in Bethlehem, in Judea

We who know this Christ, walk in his light.

His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a Son and they will call him Emmanuel-which means God with us.
